Indian rice exporters expect higher demand from Bangladesh, which has issued tenders for about 150,000 tonnes after floods, and from Sri Lanka after drought. Export prices for white rice have risen about 15% since January to $420-430 a tonne, helped by a higher MSP and a stronger rupee.
