The French Ministry of Agriculture made its first forecast for soft wheat, barley and rapeseed yields

The French Agriculture Ministry's first forecast puts 2017 soft wheat output at 36.2 million tonnes, on a yield of 7.04 t/ha across 5.147 million hectares. Barley is forecast at 12.2 million tonnes and rapeseed at 4.7 million tonnes.

A French soft wheat crop well above 2016's 27.9 million tonnes adds to EU export supply and weighs on wheat prices. Larger barley and rapeseed output also adds feed and oilseed meal supply.
