Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza A(H7N9) Virus, Tennessee, USA, March 2017

Highly pathogenic H7N9 avian influenza was detected at two Tennessee poultry farms in March 2017, according to a study published in Emerging Infectious Diseases. The research found multiple introductions of low-pathogenicity virus that mutated before spreading between farms.
