Ukrainian processors are holding sunflower seed purchase prices at 11,300-11,500 UAH/t after a hryvnia rally, below soybean and rapeseed prices. Oil World cut its 2017/18 world sunflower crop forecast to 48.52 million tons, with Ukraine reduced to 13.2 million tons.
A smaller Ukrainian and Russian crop and weaker vegetable oil prices tighten sunflower supply but pressure seed prices, which supports sunflower meal demand.
