USDA's March 12 wheat balance sheet lowered 2017/18 US wheat exports by 25 million bushels to 925 million. HRW exports were cut by 15 million bushels and HRS by 10 million.
USDA said rising domestic prices have reduced US competitiveness, and the US share of world exports has fallen to 13.8%.
Lower projected US exports leave more wheat in domestic stocks, which is bearish for export-linked prices. The report also shows that stronger domestic prices are costing the US market share to Russia and Argentina.
