Forex market: Fed, Brexit and dollar in focus

The dollar reached a 16-month high against a basket of currencies on bets for a Federal Reserve rate hike in December. Sterling fell about 1% on no-deal Brexit fears, and the euro weakened over Italy's budget standoff.

The dollar index was up 0.66% at 97.54.
