The Iowa Farm Bureau report says US ethanol exports hit a record 1.72 billion gallons in 2018, up 23.8 percent from 2017, with 10.7 percent of production shipped abroad. Corn crush for fuel ethanol reached over 5.55 billion bushels in 2018, and EPA is expected to finalize year-round E15 rules before summer.
Strong ethanol demand and co-product exports support corn demand and underpin corn prices, while E15 approval would add domestic ethanol use.
