Wheat closed higher across the three US exchanges on Thursday, with KC HRW up 13 to 15 cents. Weekly export sales showed the second-largest purchase of the marketing year at 783,416 MT, above trade estimates, and total commitments were up 15% from last year.
Strategie Grains trimmed its EU wheat crop estimate and IKAR cut its Russian export forecast by 1.5 million mt to 41 million mt.
Strong US export demand and reduced Russian export forecasts support wheat prices by shifting demand toward non-Black Sea origins. A smaller EU crop estimate also supports the global price outlook.
