The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki) estimates Indonesia will use 8.3 million tonnes of palm oil for domestic biodiesel in 2020 after launching the B30 mandate. It warns that exportable palm oil supply could fall sharply as a result.
Indonesia is also preparing B40 for next year.
Diverting 8.3 million tonnes to biodiesel would significantly cut exports and tighten global palm oil supply. That supports palm oil prices.
