US corn surplus could pose a challenge to Aus barley exports

Rabobank says near-record US corn plantings and a demand collapse from COVID-19 and low oil prices have pushed CBOT corn near $3.00 per bushel. US corn stocks are forecast to reach 33-year highs in 2020/21.

Lower ethanol margins and plant closures are cutting corn use for ethanol, which accounts for about 40% of US demand.
