Soaking rains across New South Wales have improved prospects for Australia's 2020/21 winter crop, with planting under way in all states. IKON Commodities raised its wheat forecast 2.3% to 28.53Mt and its barley forecast 3.2% to 9.38Mt, while Australian Crop Forecasters also lifted its wheat estimate to 23.1Mt.
Larger expected Australian wheat and barley output adds to export supply for the 2020/21 season, which is bearish for global feed grain prices if rains hold.
