CRU Group published an insight on how the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting fertilizer markets, noting that most governments have classified fertilizers as essential goods. It says the sector faces conflicting drivers including foreign exchange swings, macroeconomic uncertainty and reduced biofuel demand.
Fertilizer costs feed into grain and oilseed production economics, so uncertainty about input supply and demand can shift future crop input prices and farm margins for feed buyers.
