Dollar drops to one-week low as inflation fears fade; ECB in focus

The dollar index fell to its lowest level in a week after softer US consumer price data eased inflation fears. World shares rose to multi-week highs and Treasury yields eased from a recent spike.

Attention then turned to the ECB policy meeting.
