Increased pressure fundamentals launched down the wheat markets

Better Northern Hemisphere weather and weaker demand pushed US and European wheat futures lower, with CBOT SRW down $3.67/t and KC HRW down $2.11/t. Paris May milling wheat fell 2.5 euros to 218.5 euros per tonne.

Importers have been refusing expensive wheat, and French exports to China face quality and phytosanitary hurdles.

Weaker futures and reluctant importers point to softer wheat prices in the near term. Stronger dollar pressure also reduces US wheat competitiveness.
