Conab's first 2021/22 estimate puts Brazil's soybean crop at 140.75 million tonnes, up 2.5% from last year, and its corn crop at 116.31 million tonnes, up 33.7%. The corn rebound follows a 2020/21 safrinha crop wrecked by late planting, drought and frost.
A much larger Brazilian corn and soybean crop adds export supply for the second half of the marketing year, which weighs on world prices for corn and soy-based feed ingredients.
