Egypt has ordered 1 million tons of French wheat, according to AgFlow. The French Agriculture Ministry estimates the 2022 soft wheat crop at about 30.5 million tons, 7% below 2021, and expects non-EU exports to rise 17% to 10.3 million tons.
A large purchase by Egypt, a major importer, supports European wheat export demand and firm prices, while a smaller French crop keeps supplies tighter.
