Gold down 1% as dollar, yields rise on Fed rate-hike bets

Spot gold fell about 1% to $1,644.20 per ounce as the dollar and Treasury yields rose after data showed core inflation remained high. Traders widely expected another 75 basis-point Fed rate hike at the November meeting.
