House Ag makes case for new farm bill funding

The House Agriculture Committee sent a letter to House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington asking for adequate resources in the next farm bill. The letter says spiking input costs and outdated policy have made the commodity title ineffective, and notes $93.3 billion in ad hoc aid over six years.

It comes as House GOP leaders tie debt-ceiling support to federal spending cuts.
