Statistics Canada's Seeding Intentions Survey shows Saskatchewan farmers plan to expand wheat, canola and barley plantings this spring while cutting oats by 22 percent and lentils by 7.7 percent. The survey covered about 9,500 farmers in early January.
Larger wheat, canola and barley acreage points to more feed grain supply later in the year, while smaller oat acreage could tighten oat supply and support prices.
