Rupee falls 31 paise to 82.23 against the US dollar in early trade

The rupee fell 31 paise to 82.23 per dollar in early trade on Friday amid foreign fund outflows and elevated crude prices near $84 a barrel. The dollar index was roughly flat near 101.76.
