The ADM Investor Services May 2024 commodities overview said the May WASDE was supportive for corn, with 2023/24 ending stocks at 2.022 billion bushels, at the low end of expectations. It also noted 2024/25 corn stocks at 2.10 billion bushels, almost 200 million below the average trade guess.
Soybean and wheat stocks were also discussed.
Corn stocks below trade expectations support feed corn prices and reduce the cushion for buyers heading into the new crop. The outlook depends on whether the record yield assumption holds.
