Eurostat data showed the euro zone economy stagnated in Q4 2024, with GDP unchanged quarter on quarter. Germany shrank 0.2% and France 0.1%, while the EU grew 0.1%.
The euro held near $1.04 and bond yields fell.
A stagnating euro zone economy reinforces expectations of further ECB easing, which tends to weaken the euro against the dollar. Weaker European demand also trims import appetite for feed and oilseed products.
