Dollar hits three-year low as Trump attacks threaten Fed's independence

The dollar slid to as low as 97.923 against a basket of currencies, its lowest level in three years, and hit a decade low against the Swiss franc. The decline followed Trump's attacks on Federal Reserve independence and uncertainty over trade policy.
