USDA's July outlook raised its 2025 Oklahoma City feeder steer price forecast by $3.51 to $301.29/cwt, with third- and fourth-quarter forecasts lifted to $312 and $314. June feeder steer prices averaged $310.47/cwt, and the continued ban on Mexican cattle imports was cited as a supporting factor.
The 2026 forecast was also raised to $312.25/cwt.
A tight feeder supply, reinforced by the Mexican import ban, supports higher feeder cattle prices and raises feedlot input costs for buyers. The outlook implies continued firmness, though boxed beef and steer prices may see seasonal declines in the second half.
