USDA projects long-grain rice stocks down 52% this year

USDA's July WASDE put US rice production at 153.3 million cwt, the smallest since 1987, with planted acreage at 2.02 million acres, the lowest since 1972. Long-grain ending stocks are projected at 17.7 million cwt, down 52% from last year.
