Saudi Arabia, Russia and five other OPEC+ members agreed to boost production by 188,000 barrels a day from September, a move widely expected by analysts. Gulf exports have been hampered by near-paralysis of the Strait of Hormuz during the Middle East war.
The quota increase is bearish for crude on paper, but Hormuz constraints mean little supply reaches the market now. Analysts expect the real price impact only once normal export flows resume.
