RHB Research maintained its neutral call on the regional plantation sector after Indonesia changed cooking oil and palm oil rules. The changes removed the cooking oil price ceiling, revoked a 30% domestic market obligation, and raised the CPO export tax and levy ceiling to $575 a tonne.
Higher export taxes and levies are expected to support global CPO prices by reducing Indonesian exports, though the broker sees limited net change for the sector.
