GAPKI reports that 2022 was disrupted in Indonesia by extreme wet weather, the Russia-Ukraine war, high vegetable oil and fertilizer prices, and a palm oil export ban from April 28 to May 23. Replanting remained weak, with only 600,000 hectares of acreage added over five years.
Weak replanting and aging plantations constrain future palm oil output, supporting firmer medium-term palm oil prices and tighter vegetable oil supplies.
