The JKM spot LNG benchmark for North Asia hit a one-year high on supply disruptions from the U.S., Norway and Nigeria, along with increased winter buying. A typhoon in South Korea also lifted LNG power generation demand.
Buyers were responding to forecasts for a cold winter.
Outages in major supply regions combined with firm Asian winter demand tighten the LNG market and push up spot gas prices.
