The August USDA WASDE raised its 2022-23 Australian wheat production forecast by 3 million tonnes to 33Mt on better weather and yield prospects. The report also raised Australian and Canadian wheat export forecasts, lifted Russia's crop to a record 88Mt, and cut India and the EU.
Global 2022-23 wheat production was put at a record 779.6Mt.
Higher exporter supplies from Australia, Russia and Canada weigh on wheat export prices. Cuts in India and the EU partly offset this, but the net effect is bearish.
