Indian trade official Santosh Kumar Sarangi said the government will decide on lifting the wheat export ban around the March-April harvest. The decision will depend on a review of the gap between domestic wheat demand and supply.
The ban has been in place since May 2022.
The timing of a possible reopening of Indian wheat exports will shape world wheat supply expectations for the coming season, but no change has been made yet.
