# IGC sees grains output falling in 2026-27 | World Grain

> The IGC forecasts 2026-27 global grains output falling 2.7% to about 2.42 billion tonnes, with maize at 821 million tonnes and wheat at 1.306 billion tonnes. Global grain trade is projected to fall 17 million tonnes, and carryover stocks are seen shrinking 26 million tonnes, while soybean output rises to a record 441 million tonnes.
