# Euro rises as Putin sees 'positive shifts' in talks

> The euro rose about 0.4% to $1.1043 after Putin said there had been progress in talks with Ukraine. It was heading for its first weekly gain in five weeks, after earlier falling to a near two-year low and then getting support from the ECB's plan to end stimulus.
