# Govt to procure addl chemical fertilizer to ensure food security

> The Bangladesh government decided to procure an additional one lakh tonnes each of urea and DAP this fiscal year to support crop production and food security. Urea is to be bought by BCIC and DAP by the agriculture ministry through competitive emergency tenders.
