# Soybean expansion may favor corn planting in Mato Grosso

> Imea estimates Mato Grosso will plant 7.48 million hectares of corn in 2026/27, up 0.59% year over year. Soybean planting is about 90% complete, which could give growers more time to plant the second corn crop within the preferred window, although weather risks remain.
