# Renewable diesel driving Canada’s biofuels growth

> Canadian renewable-diesel capacity expanded from zero to nearly 2.4 billion liters annually by 2025, and combined biodiesel and renewable-diesel output averaged 150 million liters per month in the first seven months of 2026. Canadian plants used about 800,000 tonnes of vegetable oil in that period, more than double the year-earlier volume and close to cereal-grain use of roughly 860,000 tonnes.
