# Rain delays soybean planting and could shorten corn planting window in Paraná

> Soybean planting in Paraná reached 71% of the planned 2026/27 area, but excessive rainfall has delayed fieldwork compared with recent seasons. Excess moisture, low sunlight and below-average temperatures have also reduced the share of soybean fields rated in good condition from 88% to 85%, while raising concern that the corn planting window could narrow.

## Why it matters

Delayed and deteriorating soybean crops could constrain production prospects, while a shorter window for planting second-crop corn may increase its yield risk. These risks are supportive for soybean and corn prices if they persist.
