> Soybean oil dropped 2.68% to 63.53 US cents per pound on the December contract, pressured by lower crude oil. Soybeans fell 0.97%, while soybean meal rose 0.19% and corn gained 0.40%. A 0.66% fall in the Brazilian real further cut the reais value of Chicago prices.

## Why it matters

Lower crude oil weakens biofuel demand for soybean oil, which pulls down the crush margin and soybean prices. A weaker real also lowers the local-currency cost of imported feed ingredients.
