# Excess rain worsens soybean crop conditions in Paraná

> Paraná's soybean planting reached 71% of the 2026/27 area of over 5.7 million hectares, lagging the last three seasons, according to state agency Deral. Excess rain has cut the share of crops rated good to 85% from 88% the previous week, while the share rated fair rose to 14%. The wet, overcast conditions are also slowing plant growth.

## Why it matters

Waterlogging and reduced sunlight cut yield potential and delay planting, which is a mild bullish factor for soybeans and meal in a state that is a significant producer. Impact on prices is limited while the rating decline stays modest.
