# Rupiah strengthens on US dollar weakness

> The rupiah closed 86 points, or 0.47%, stronger at Rp18,082 per US dollar on Thursday, up from Rp18,168. ICDX analyst Muhammad Amru Syifa attributed the gain mainly to broad US dollar weakness after the US midterm elections, lower US Treasury yields, and falling oil prices.
