# Lloydminster ethanol plant closing leaves growers hunting a buyer

> Cenovus will close its ethanol plant just east of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, on Dec. 15, 2026, after an economic review. The plant took about 350,000 tonnes of grain a year and produced 130 million litres of ethanol plus about 130,000 tonnes of distillers grains.
