# SD Guthrie calls for export duty waiver to resolve palm oil supply glut

> SD Guthrie's chief executive urged the Malaysian government to temporarily waive the crude palm oil export duty to help the industry clear a supply glut. Malaysia's export duty makes its CPO costlier than Indonesian supply by an estimated RM700 to RM900 per tonne. The Malaysian Palm Oil Board spot CPO price was RM4,292 per tonne on November 4.
