# Oilseed workers' strike that halts exports is suspended for 15 days after Rural Society request

> Argentina's government ordered a 15-day mandatory conciliation that suspends the strike by oilseed workers at the Federación Aceitera and SOEA unions. The Rural Society asked for the measure because the strike was stopping soybean product exports and hurting producers. The unions say they will continue action until wages keep pace with inflation.

## Why it matters

Argentina is a leading supplier of soybean meal and oil, so a strike that halts crushing and exports tightens global meal supply. The 15-day suspension eases the immediate supply risk, but the unions' wage demands leave the risk of renewed disruption and higher meal prices.
