# Corn could exceed 120 million tonnes in 2027

> Consultant Antonio Prado cites Conab's October 2026 estimate of 113.25 million tonnes of corn on 18.49 million hectares. He simulates that extra area, better yields or earlier soybean harvests could push output above 120 million tonnes. Rainfall between January and April 2027 is the key variable.

## Why it matters

Higher projected Brazilian safrinha corn would add to export supply later in 2027 and cap prices. The estimate is a scenario analysis, so the market impact is limited for now.
