# Peru expects lower Tahiti lime yields and higher prices this season

> Peru's Tahiti lime season runs from mid-November to about the end of April. Agroexportadora Sol de Olmos expects output near 80% of a normal year because of El Niño weather, cutting its target from 250 containers to 170-180. FOB prices are now about $1.15-1.20, versus roughly 90 cents a year earlier.

## Why it matters

El Niño-driven losses are hitting smallholder lime growers hardest, tightening supply and lifting prices. The effect on feed ingredients is minimal because limes are not a feed commodity.
