# Indian soybean processors oppose imports of 3 mln tons of GM soybean meal

> The Soybean Processors Association of India has opposed a poultry breeders' proposal to import 3 million tons of GM soybean meal and to extend zero import duties to all African countries. SOPA estimates domestic soymeal supply at 8.172 million tons against projected consumption of 8 million tons, with ending stocks of 172 thousand tons by September 2027. It appealed to the Commerce Ministry on October 26 to reject the proposal.
