# Fedeagro denounces gap between costs and prices for corn and rice

> Venezuela's Fedeagro says local corn and rice producers could lose up to $450 per tonne because farm-gate prices sit below production costs. It says white corn trades at $340 per tonne, yellow corn at $300, and rice at $310 to $350, against a estimated minimum of $400. The federation blames import tax treatment, the import-parity pricing benchmark and the end of agricultural subsidies.
