# CBOT soybeans fall to 11-week low as oil slumps and US output threatens to flood the market

> CBOT soybean futures fell to an 11-week low, with the January contract down 17.50 cents to $12.1675 a bushel, after crude oil dropped more than 7%. ## Why it matters

Lower crude prices reduce the appeal of soyoil for biofuel and add pressure to soybean values, while a record US harvest keeps supplies ample for feed buyers. Black Sea export risks are the main support for wheat prices.
