# Brazil Tries to Avoid Soybean Barriers in Europe Ahead of New Environmental Law

> Brazilian agribusiness representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Aprosoja Brasil and Abiove are touring France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. They aim to get Brazil's environmental controls recognised under the EU Deforestation-Free Products Regulation (EUDR), which applies to soy, soymeal, beef, palm oil and other commodities less than two months from now. The rule requires proof that products are not linked to deforestation after 31 December 2020, even on land legally cleared in the country of origin.
