# Livestock Infectious Diseases: Strengthen Prevention, Minimize Culling... Farm Compensation Cap Raised to 90%

> South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture unveiled a 'K-Livestock Disease Prevention Improvement Plan' at a Cabinet meeting on November 3, adding AI-powered disinfection, access control and disease detection. The plan also accelerates Korean vaccine development and limits culling and movement restrictions to where they are essential. Compensation for affected farms will rise to a 90% cap.

## Why it matters

Stronger prevention and a higher compensation cap reduce the risk of prolonged foot-and-mouth or avian flu outbreaks that disrupt domestic livestock and feed demand. The impact on global feed prices is limited, as this is a national policy change.
